About hunting in Botswana

For many years, Botswana was known as one of the top dangerous-game hunting countries in southern Africa, with a plethora of elephants, lions, and leopards, as well as a wide variety of plains game inhabiting the country from the scenic Kalahari Desert to the vast Okavango Delta. In 2013, the Ministry of Environment, Wildlife, and Tourism issued a ban on hunting in all government and community lands in Botswana, but fortunately, hunting continues on ranches and other privately owned landholdings. The plains-game hunting in this beautiful country is still excellent, with zebra, bushbuck, eland, gemsbok, impala, kudu, red hartebeest, warthog, wildebeest, and waterbuck among the most sought-after species. Hunting here is conducted in a variety of ways: in a traditional safari vehicle, by poling in a mokoro, the traditional dugout canoe, or by walking ancient paths with native Bushmen. Any way you hunt in Botswana, it remains a magnificent, wildlife-rich country.

'Big 3": Elephant, Leopard & Buffalo

'Big 3": Elephant, Leopard & Buffalo Botswana

We have been fortunate enough to have obtained two of the recently released hunting concessions in Botswana: NG49 and CT27. In homage to the days of “old Africa” we are offering a 14-day “Big 3”, trophy elephant, trophy cape buffalo and trophy leopard for an all-inclusive price of $122,000 US all in. Very exclusive as we can only offer two of these special packages. Leopard trophy fee above applies – if not taken or no shot opportunity the Big 3 price is reduced by $7800 US. Only extra costs will be your transportation, lodging and food from your home to the pick-up in Maun and then home again from the same. All animals on offer are fully exportable from Botswana. We can not comment nor commit to importability into any other country. Importability is the responsibility of the client. Limited amount of plains game species are available on quota in these two areas and will be considered ‘trophies of opportunity” while perusing the primary species above. Trophy fees for these will be at a 10% discount from the normal published rates. Prices below are BEFORE the 10% discount. Normal PG trophy fees for NG49 are: Baboon (Chocma) - $80, Steenbok - $400, Warthog - $400, Gemsbok (Oryx) - $1200, Burchell’s (Plains) Zebra - $1200, Kudu (Greater) - $1500. No culls available in NG49. We fully understand the current uncertainty the Wu Flu has caused. We have met with Botswana National Government officials as well as the community elders and are confident the hunting season for all of the newly tendered concessions throughout the country will be extended to at lease the end of October 2020 or longer. Anyone who is interested and would like to be placed on our waiting list to reserve one of these hunts for when travel and international boarders eventually reopen, please contact.
