Oryx hunting in Botswana

Oryx is another name for Gemsbuck and occurs in the drier regions of Botswana. Their natural distribution declines from west to east and south to north. Oryx is a strikingly beautiful antelope that is light brown in colour and has a very distinctive masked face. The face is white with a black patch on its forehead and two black stripes running along its face from its eyes towards the throat area. Oryx is well adapted to living in the desert and can go for long periods of time without water. They are also able to control their body temperature. Oryx is classified as a species of least concern by the IUCN.
