About hunting in British Columbia
British Columbia is a province rich in wildlife and hunting history. The province is almost one million km2 (385,000 miles2) and home to 18 of the North American 30 big game species. Since the mid 1800’s, the world’s hunting fraternity has known that BC was home to some of the world’s most magnificent big game populations. From mountain-tops to valley bottoms, rivers and lakes to grasslands and lush forests, BC has quality habitat for wildlife in which to thrive. This helps produce quality big game populations throughout the province. In BC guide outfitters are licensed with the exclusive rights to guide non-resident big game hunters in their specific territory. Therefore, they have immense knowledge of the wildlife populations where they guide. All outfitters are insured and bonded. Most outfitters are members of the Guide Outfitters Association of BC (GOABC) and follow a Code of Conduct. We hope you “Book Your Hunt” with a GOABC member and your hunting dreams come true.

Spring Black Bear Hunt Canada
Bears emerge from their dens in search of food around mid-April; these well-furred bears can range in color from blonde, cinnamon, chocolate or jet-black…you take your pick. Mature bears will average 6 to 7 feet nose to tail, weighing 300-500 lbs. The lush woods, remote logging blocks and high population of moose give plenty for the bears to eat and grow to an impressive size. There is limited resident hunting pressure. This is a wilderness hunt where baiting is prohibited because grizzlies are present; our spot and stalk method will keep you begging for more. By only having 4 hunters per hunt, we allow a hunter access to more bears with minimal hunting pressure, resulting in a great opportunity at that trophy bear. If time permits, there is a variety of other activities to pursue; wildlife observation, fishing, and wolf hunting are exciting additions to this thrilling adventure. Our area has a large population of wolves. A 50% deposit is required to confirm your booking. Deposits represent reservation of space that is then unavailable to other hunters when two or more parties are interested in the same date, the first deposit received gets the booking and any duplicate payments/interests will be promptly returned. Final payment for Spring Hunts is April 1st and for Fall Hunts is July 1st, the year of your hunt.

Vancuver Island Black Bear Hunt (1 bear) Canada
The black bears on Vancouver Island have been classified as a distinct subspecies because of their long time separation from the mainland population. Our bears are all black with no color phases, yet, approximately 50% will have a white patch of varying sizes on their chest. Skulls and bodies are typically blockier than their mainland cousins and many of the bears we take will break the 7’ square mark. The terrain within our vast hunting area varies greatly from steep and rocky logging areas to lush tidal flats along the ocean. All of our hunts are spot and stalk since baiting is illegal in BC. Your experienced guide will be with you at all times, both to ensure your safety, and to inform and advise you on the habits, age, size and sex of each of the many black bears you will see.
