About hunting in British Columbia
British Columbia is a province rich in wildlife and hunting history. The province is almost one million km2 (385,000 miles2) and home to 18 of the North American 30 big game species.
Since the mid 1800’s, the world’s hunting fraternity has known that BC was home to some of the world’s most magnificent big game populations. From mountain-tops to valley bottoms, rivers and lakes to grasslands and lush forests, BC has quality habitat for wildlife in which to thrive. This helps produce quality big game populations throughout the province.
In BC guide outfitters are licensed with the exclusive rights to guide non-resident big game hunters in their specific territory. Therefore, they have immense knowledge of the wildlife populations where they guide. All outfitters are insured and bonded. Most outfitters are members of the Guide Outfitters Association of BC (GOABC) and follow a Code of Conduct.
We hope you “Book Your Hunt” with a GOABC member and your hunting dreams come true.

**Everything went perfectly. To understand how unique this horseback hunt truly is, you need to know a few details.**
First of all, Dustin is running a huge company, which makes it even more impressive how quickly he responds to inquiries (as long as he has cell service – something that is far from guaranteed in the Yukon, and everyone should understand that).
I was fortunate enough to be flown into base camp on a beautiful day. This was the starting point for our 9-day hunt, and there I met my guide and wrangler. Another team was also in camp at that time. The friendliness and professionalism of those guides were outstanding as well. For anyone worried about running into other hunters: this was the only contact, and we had absolutely no overlap during the hunt.
From there we spent nine days in the wilderness. You may stay in tents, in small cabins, or – like in base camp – in a larger cabin. The incredible landscape and vastness of this hunting area are simply breathtaking. Traveling by horseback allows you to cover an impressive amount of country.
I was lucky – though I believe this applies to all of Dustin’s guides – to be paired with a incredibly hardworking guide and wrangler. Being the last hunter of the season, I was amazed at how hard Tim and Mac were still working after 80 days in the backcountry. This alone gave me complete confidence in everything they did, and that trust is essential.
Every hunter, especially European hunters, needs to let go of the idea that you will see game behind every corner. Only then can you enjoy the hunt from the very first day. This is true wilderness, and that affects wildlife behavior. All the more fascinating it is when you finally encounter a moose or another species.
If you are fortunate enough to harvest a moose, you will be impressed by the professionalism that follows. From field dressing and quartering the animal, to packing it out, and eventually leaving camp (in my case a full trail-out) – everything was handled with absolute skill and care. It was a worthy ending to a true hunt of a lifetime.
I can wholeheartedly recommend Dustin as an outfitter. One small piece of advice: to truly enjoy a horseback hunt, make sure to take a few riding lessons beforehand.
**Thank you, Dustin, for making my lifelong dream come true.**

I had the opportunity to hunt with Wolverine Range Outfitters with the brief amount of time I had between duty stations. The whole team at Wolverine Range Outfitters were stellar. From the moment I met up with my guide Ben and for the duration of the hunt, everyone gave their best efforts to maximize my experience in the back country. The area is stunning and the hunting is fantastic; I simply cannot recommend them enough! The trip culminated poetically when Ben put me on an absolute tank on my birthday. They made my first bear hunting experience as if I was hunting with friends, and I will forever be grateful!
No complaints!

Denise and Allan were great hosts. Accommodations and food were great. We hunted hard and made good use of the time and areas to hunt. Allan wasn’t afraid to try something new for our early hunt and he knew the area like the back of his hand. We hunted hard and filled our tags. Can’t wait to do it again
We chose to come a bit early based on recent years weather and forecast. This was our choice in any case but it ultimately paid off.

Anvil Mountain Guiding

We saw 7 moose in 7 days including 2 good bulls. Enthusiastic guide who remained positive throughout the hunt. Good mix of hunting on foot, 4 wheelers and side by side.
Shooting opportunity was at a greater distance than we felt comfortable with and terrain wasn't conducive to closing the gap.

Mountain Goat having a snack
The "goat" part in the name is not entirelly correct - it's actually a goat-antelope, akin to pronghorn. But the "mountain" part is more than accurate!
