Bushbuck hunting in Namibia {{ totalToursString }}
Only one subspecies of Bushbuck occurs in Namibia, the Chobe Bushbuck. Their distribution is also limited to the Zambezi province, formerly the Caprivi Strip. Here they thrive on the floodplains of the Chobe River and Linyanti wetlands of the Okavango Delta.
Bushbuck, in this instance the Chobe Bushbuck have attractive, brightly chestnut-coloured coats with white stripes, a white dorsal crest and white spots on their flanks and haunches. Bushbuck are almost entirely nocturnal and rest up in the thickets during the day. They are best hunted early in the morning and late afternoon and are always found near water.
Bushbuck are courageous animals and are known to have killed and wounded hunters when wounded. Their alarm call sounds like a dog or Baboon bark.
Bushbuck are classified as a species of least concern by the IUCN, no special hunting permits are required.
