Bushbuck hunting in Ethiopia {{ totalToursString }}
Ethiopia is blessed with 4 subspecies of Bushbuck. In 2007, this group of animals was divided into 23 subspecies and due to great morphological variances even within a localised population, it can make true identification without a DNA test very difficult. So without just using colour alone, this species is often classified according to the region where they are located.
The most widely spread and common Bushbuck in Ethiopia is the Abyssinian Bushbuck covering nearly two-thirds of the country’s central, eastern, western and northern regions.
The Somali Bushbuck is found in the southwestern region of the country and Masai or East African Bushbuck occurs in the south of the country.
Menelik’s Bushbuck is found in the central highland region of the country.
All these Bushbuck are classified as a species of least concern by the IUCNand no special hunting permits are required to export a trophy.
