Yellow blesbuck hunting in South Africa {{ totalToursString }}
More and more colour combinations and colours are being introduced to the Blesbok game breeding and hunting market. Yellow Blesbuck are not a recognised subspecies but are actually a colour variant bred by game ranchers in South Africa out of the recessive genes of a Common Blesbuck.
Yellow Blesbuck have the standard colourisation of a Common Belsbuck's head (white blaze) and shoulders (dark brown), however the flanks and hindquarters are a distinctive light tan colour. Currently this colour variant is only available on limited game ranches for hunting purposes. As their numbers increase, so the trophy fee price is expected to decrease.
No special permits are required to hunt these animals which are classified as Common Blesbok for exportation purposes and classified as a species of least concern by the IUCN.
