White Impala hunting in South Africa

We found 1 hunt
White Impalas are not very common in South Africa. This animal has been bred as a colour variant by game teachers in South Africa out of a recessive gene found in some Southern (Common) Impala. These animals are not rue albinos as they have dark eyes and eyelids. Their hide is completely white which affords them no sort of camouflage. If they were to be born into a truly wild situation they would no doubt be one of the first animals to be taken out by predators. At this stage hunting opportunities for White Impala are few and far between and once their numbers increase so is it likely that the trophy fee price will become more affordable. Classified as a species of least concern by the IUCN. When exported they are classified as a Southern Impala with no reference to their skin colour.
