Water buffalo hunting in South Africa
We found 1 hunt
Water Buffalo are not indigenous to South Africa and not to be confused with an African or Cape Buffalo. These animals were probably originally introduced from Asia where they have been domesticated and used to plough fields and even commercially milked for human consumption.
Although not as dangerous as Cape Buffalo, these animals still pose a threat when wounded. However, hunting opportunities in South Africa are limited as this species is not readily available on the majority of game farms.
Wild Water Buffalo numbers are decreasing and the species is listed as endangered by the IUCN.
