- Half Moon Outfitters was established in 2023 and operates in a remote area of the Wilderness New Brunswick, Canada.
- We focus on quality over quantity, we offer a limited number of tags—6 in 2024 and 12 for Spring 2025—allowing us to prioritize harvesting big, mature boars.
- To ensure the best possible experience for our hunters, we use game cameras set to video mode at all bait sites. This advanced setup provides a clear view and better identification of visiting bears, helping us carefully select the right opportunities for a successful hunt.
- In 2024, we managed 18 bait sites to support 6 tags. With an additional 6 tags secured for Spring 2025, we are expanding our operations to provide even more opportunities for our hunters.

Spring 2026 Black Bear Hunts – Half Moon Outfitters
Experience black bear hunting like never before in the untouched wilderness of New Brunswick. Now entering our 3rd season, Half Moon Outfitters continues to attract returning hunters who trust us for personalized, small-group hunts with expert guidance.
Whether you hunt by rifle, bow, or crossbow, our meticulously managed bait sites and flexible dates give you the best chance at harvesting a mature bear. Each hunt includes one guide per two hunters, comfortable lodging, and transport to bait sites. Optional meals and second bear opportunities are available.
We keep groups small to ensure an exclusive, unforgettable experience—where every hunter is treated like family.
Hunts run throughout all four weeks of June, offering prime conditions and memories that will last a lifetime.

Spring 2025 Black Bear Hunt Results – Half Moon Outfitters
Our 2025 Spring Black Bear season was another outstanding year at Half Moon Outfitters!
14 hunters joined us, and all saw multiple bears during their hunts.
10 bears were harvested, with 4 hunters choosing to wait for trophy bears rather than shoot.
Of the 10 harvested bears:
4 were true trophy boars over 300 pounds (345, 320, 319.5, 319 lbs)
3 were over 200 pounds (270, 260, 220 lbs)
3 were first-time bear harvests (180, 110, 92 lbs)
This season highlights the quality and maturity of the bears at Half Moon Camp, as well as our ability to give hunters multiple opportunities to see and harvest the bear of their dreams.

Where you will hunt
Territory
Located in the heart of New Brunswick, we cover a vast territory of 900 km², much of which has never
been hunted. This unique and pristine environment allows us to offer exclusive opportunities for
harvesting mature boars, ensuring a high-quality hunting experience.
Last Spring, we hosted 14 bear hunters, all of whom had the opportunity to see multiple bears during their five-day hunts. 10 bears were successfully harvested, with 4 being trophy boars over 300 pounds, 3 over 200 pounds, and 3 first-time bear harvests.
Four hunters chose not to harvest, waiting for their target bears, highlighting our commitment to selective hunting. Among the successful hunts, one young man harvested his first bear with a bow, and another bear was taken with a crossbow.
This season’s results reflect the quality and maturity of the bears at Half Moon Camp. Many of our hunters are already returning for Spring 2026, a testament to the personalized experience and exceptional hunting we provide.

Half Moon Outfitters offers a comfortable and welcoming lodging setup with three well-equipped buildings on site.
Our main lodge is the heart of camp. This is where all meals are served, and it provides a warm, relaxing space to unwind and socialize with other hunters after a day in the field.
Sleeping accommodations are provided in “The Bunker,” a dedicated lodging building that comfortably accommodates up to 8 guests. Bedding is provided, and the building includes full bathroom facilities with hot showers to ensure a comfortable stay.
We also offer Starlink Wi-Fi, giving guests reliable internet service to stay connected with family and friends during their hunt.
Our third building is the guide camp, used by our team to ensure smooth operations throughout the week.
For game care, we have a cold room on site to properly store harvested animals. Guests can also enjoy evenings around our outdoor fire pit, a perfect spot to relax and share stories under the stars.

For hunters traveling from the United States, the nearest airport is Presque Isle International Airport in
Northern Maine, approximately a 2-hour 40-minute drive to camp. For those arriving from within
Canada, the Moncton Airport is the closest option, located about 3 hours and 10 minutes from camp.

Cancellation
- While deposits are non-refundable, they are

Wounding
- If blood is drawn, the hunter is only allowed to hunt the same stand where the animal was wounded.
- Switching to a different stand or location is not permitted. This policy ensures the best chance of
- tracking and recovering the wounded animal.
