Salt's dik dik hunting in Ethiopia {{ totalToursString }}
Salt’s Dik Dik or rather the Typical Salt’s Dik Dik has a tuft of hair on its forehead, like some of the Duikers, big round eyes and is the largest of the Dik Diks with a short snout. The Typical Salt’s Dik Dik is the greyest of the Salt Dik Diks with reddish legs a greyish coat and a white belly.
This short-snouted Dik Dik is found in the western regions of Ethiopia.
These well-adapted species are territorial and found in monogamous pairs, so if you find the female the male will always be nearby. They are well adapted to their semi-arid surrounds, water independent and able to acquire enough moisture from the browse material upon which they feed.
Salt’s Dik Diks are classified as a species of least concern by the IUCN and may be hunted on an Ethiopian hunting license.
