The Beisa Oryx is the only Oryx species found in Ethiopia. Scimitar Horned Oryx are now extinct in Ethiopia. Three subspecies of Beisa Oryx occur in the country, namely, the Lakipia Beais Oryx in the extreme southwest, Galla Beisa Oryx in the south and eastern areas and the Common Beisa Oryx in the northeastern regions.
