Oribi hunting in Tanzania
We found 1 hunt
Oribi is a small size antelope with light rusty brown colouring and white underparts. In many respects, they may be mistaken for a Steenbuck but are larger size-wise and have a distinguishing black tail. Only the males have slightly forward curving horns.
Oribi is found in the wetter western regions of Tanzania.
This grassland species prefer to feed on green grass and favours the less waterlogged areas with short grass maintained by fire or heavy grazing. During the heat of the day, they rest up in long grass and can be found feeding in the more open short grass areas during the cooler part of the day. Unfortunately, their habit of jumping up at the last moment makes them very susceptible to predation and poachers hunting with dogs.
Oribi is classified as a species of least concern by the IUCN. A Tanzanian hunting license must be purchased before the commencement of your hunt.
