Olive baboon hunting in Ethiopia

We found 2 hunts
Olive Baboons, also known as Anubis Baboons are the most widely distributed Baboon species in Africa, occurring in 25 equatorial countries across the continent. They range across the central and southern regions of Ethiopia. Their name is derived from the colour of their furry coat, described as a shade of green-grey. Their habitat ranges from mountains, savannahs and forests where permanent water is available. During the heat of the day these baboons will often rest up near water. They feed on fleshy plant material, seeds, fruit, tubers, bulbs and flowers. Being omnivorous, they also feed on insects, scorpions, spiders, beetles, birds eggs, nestlings and will even kill small mammals to eat. Communication between the animals the troop is both vocal and non-vocal. Whilst feeding they may make a series of grunts and a repeated dog-like bark is used to alert the troop to impending danger. CITES permits are required for the import and export of Baboons to control the international trade in primates. The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) also have special import regulations for the importation of Baboon trophies into the USA.
