Moose hunting in Canada

Moose hunting in Canada ({{totalToursString}})

Moose, just as ice hockey and the maple leaf, is one of the symbols of Canada. All the four kinds of moose recognized by the trophy record books - Shiras, Eastern, Western, and Alaska-Yukon, can be found in the boreal forests of Canada. For Canadians, a moose hunt is typically a meat hunt. For non-residents, it is an adventure, usually involving a journey into true wilderness by a float plane or boat. Moose tend to take to river beds, where they can feed on willows and water plants. October to November, the time of the rut, where bull moose challenge each other for dominance and cows, is the prime time for moose hunting. A picture of an enormous animal, crazed and fired up with hormones and very dangerous, is thrashing the bushes within archery range, will never vanish from your memory. However, good outfitters can arrange a good hunt also before, and especially post-rut, when the trees are bare and the beast can be spotted from a long distance, and then stalked. Most provinces have requirements for non-resident hunters to be accompanied by registered guides, and have quotas for outfitters so that they can supply their hunters with OTC tags.

Looking for best hunting trips for You...

Why do I see different types of prices?
There are two types of hunts on our platform: Package Hunts and Customizable Hunts. Package Hunts are fixed offers. Customizable Hunts usually allow you to select species and other parameters (number of hunters and guests, etc.) and then you can see the final price of your hunt.

"Package price" tag - this price tag is shown for package hunts, and it's a final price for an offer.

"Price from" tag - we show this tag for customizable hunts either when you search for particular species or when there is only one type of species in an offer. In both cases we include the minimum trophy fee available for this type of animal. It means that you see the final price of the offer, but you can also customize it (e.g. you can include a bigger trophy into your hunt).

"Daily rate fee" tag - this price does NOT include trophy fee. For example, if you are searching for a destination and we can't figure out the species you want, then we show this tag. You will need to include trophies from a hunt page.
