Livingstone eland hunting in South Africa ({{totalToursString}})

Although not indigenous to South Africa, this huge Eland species, sometimes called Patterson’s Eland, with its distinctive white stripes is now found on a number of game farms in South Africa. They are larger than their Cape Eland cousins and both sexes carry spiral horns. The bull’s horns are thicker than the females and a good trophy has a tuft of hair growing on its forehead with an impressive dewlap. Now more commonly available for hunting on some Limpopo Province game farms, Livingstone’s Eland also occurs on properties in the North West and Northern Cape Provinces to as far south as the Western Cape Province. Although a huge bulky animal, they are able to jump impressive heights and wander huge distances in search of suitable feeding areas. Traditionally they are tracked and hunted walk and stalk style in the huge concessions further north in Africa. In South Africa, vehicles are used to search for the animals prior to the start of a walk and stalk hunt. Classified as a species of least concern by the IUCN, no special hunting permits are required.

Looking for best hunting trips for You...

Why do I see different types of prices?
There are two types of hunts on our platform: Package Hunts and Customizable Hunts. Package Hunts are fixed offers. Customizable Hunts usually allow you to select species and other parameters (number of hunters and guests, etc.) and then you can see the final price of your hunt.

"Package price" tag - this price tag is shown for package hunts, and it's a final price for an offer.

"Price from" tag - we show this tag for customizable hunts either when you search for particular species or when there is only one type of species in an offer. In both cases we include the minimum trophy fee available for this type of animal. It means that you see the final price of the offer, but you can also customize it (e.g. you can include a bigger trophy into your hunt).

"Daily rate fee" tag - this price does NOT include trophy fee. For example, if you are searching for a destination and we can't figure out the species you want, then we show this tag. You will need to include trophies from a hunt page.

African Dream Hunt Limpopo, South Africa

We hunt various concessions totalling over 30000 acres. Each concession has different terrains, some mountainous, some with rivers and small dams, that each contribute to providing different hunting environments and hosts many of the species in their natural preferred habitats. In autumn and winter, we can be out all day hunting due to milder temperatures. In the summer months, hunting occurs early morning, beak over midday and continue late afternoon till dusk. More foliage and cover, tracking and hunting after some fresh rainfall, perfect night-time temperatures and all the baby calves running around makes summer hunts even more special. Bowhunting is done mostly from a blind, at a waterhole or a feeding spot. Rifle hunters normally hunt walking and stalking but can use a blind if the species or situation requires it. Dangerous game hunts are only done on foot, and our long-range hunts are either walk and stalk, or from a perch, or mountain.

1:1 Limpopo Plains Game Hunt Limpopo, South Africa

Hunting ordinances, regulations, seasons, etc. are controlled and promulgated by the nature conservation authorities in the various provinces. Regulations stipulate which species can be hunted, when, where, and by whom. The provinces also maintain official control of the trophy hunting industry in South Africa. Prospective foreign clients must make their arrangements through a licensed Hunting Outfitter and be guided on the hunt by a licensed Professional Hunter. Professional Hunters/Outfitters must hold licenses for each province where they operate. Hunting is regulated on a provincial basis. We are an accredited hunting outfit. We obtain all our licenses and hunting permits prior to the hunting season and only hunt on Nature conservation approved hunting areas. Clients do not have to apply for any hunting permits except for a CITES 1 animal; in that case, we will supply you with all the information.
