Early morning breakfast around 4am and then head out to the field to set up the decoys and blinds for a morning waterfowl hunt. The morning hunt is a great experience with lots of Snow Geese, Canada Geese, Specklebelly Geese, Sandhill Cranes and ducks filling the skies. We use many Snow Goose decoys, flyers, and rotary decoys, as well as electronic goose call to our birds. You will see over ten species of ducks and over five sub species of Canada geese ranging from Giant Greaters to small Cacklers in staggering numbers. Goose season remains open into December, but the peak period is usually the final week of September through mid to late October in this province Around 10 am or when we limit out we head back to the lodge for brunch and relax until we are ready to venture out for our evening duck hunt. After our evening shoot, we have prepared for you a home-made supper, and spend the night relaxing and relive the day’s hunt. Upland Game Birds open after September 15 The primary species that hunters come to Saskatchewan for are Greater Canada Geese, Cacklers, Snow & Blue Geese, Ross Geese and White-fronted Geese, which is also known as a Specklebelly. We have 27 different species of ducks in our hunting area including Mallards, Pintails, Blue and Green Winged Teals, Widgeons, Northern Shovelers, Red Heads, and Canvasbacks to name a few. There is also an opportunity to hunt Sand Hill Cranes as they migrate through the area. Limits Canada Geese – 8 per day per hunter. Possession – 24. Snow and Blue Geese – 20 per day per hunter. Possession – 60. Specklebellies – 5 per day per hunter. Possession – 15. Ducks – 8 per day per hunter. Possession – 24. Sandhill Cranes – 5 per day per hunter. Possession – 15. No hunt will be conducted if these are not in hand upon arrival and full payment is still required with no refunds. They are allowed to watch the hunt with NO weapon in hand. 50% of hunt fee as deposit at time of booking, the remaining 50% will be required within one week of booking date or can pay in full at time of booking.
