We have a very healthy elk population with many small herds. Our gene pool provides very heavy horned animals. We have a six point restriction and take exceptional 350 to 370 point bulls throughout the season. We hunt the bugle season throughout the valley bottoms and high country. Our season runs Sept. 10th - Oct. 20th. Deer or bear can be added to this hunt. Elk bow hunts are available Sept. 1st through 10th.

Our cow elk hunts are 3 days fully guided on game rich private ranch. It is not uncommon to see 100 plus elk on the ranch daily. Hunts will be conducted out of four-wheel drive vehicles and UTV’s, with spot and stalk tactics used after chosen game is located. You will be hunting rolling sage brush and cedar hills, suitable for most physical abilities, with mountains as your backdrop. This is a high success hunt with good drawing odds.

We are conveniently located an hour and a half from the San Antonio Airport so getting to us is easy! We are located in the heart of big buck and exotic country, in the famous golden triangle. We only host a limited number of hunts each year to provide you with the best experience possible. Hunts are typically done from box blinds or ground blinds. The ranch is covered in thick brush with senderos and fields which makes hunting a true challenge. The challenge and thrill of the elk hunts are the perfect compliment to a South Texas Whitetail hunt or pursued on their own. Hunts are typically 3 nights/3 days in length.

This hunt is the beginning of the elk rutting season, the elk are bugling and for those of you who haven’t heard this before the experience can be as exciting as the kill. In this hunt you will be taken to camp on an atv where you will either hunt from here or be taken to spike camps depending on the elks locations. You will be camping in wall tents with wood stoves, great food, and an awesome experience of the great outdoors.

Our guides are some of the most knowledgeable and experienced big game hunters in the Southern Colorado area. Any person looking for a guided hunt in this region will be sure to enjoy the professionalism we offer along with the excitement of a trophy hunt. This hunt is conducted 20 miles west of Trinidad Colorado on a private ranch consisting of 8,000 acres. This ranch is around 7500 ft. in elevation it is located in the second biggest elk herd in Colorado. You will be responsible for transportation to Trinidad Colorado. Licenses are available by draw for the first and forth seasons the second and third season licenses can be purchased on arrival.

Our Elk hunts are free-range hunts in rugged terrain and will require clients to hike to prime Elk habitat. Our hunting area is not as rugged or steep as Montana or Colorado, but we do recommend clients are capable of hiking up to 10 miles a day to have a successful Elk hunt. As of 2021, non-resident adult Elk hunting tags for our area are allocated to the outfitter and will need to be purchased at the time of deposit. Call outfitter for details. Non-resident elk hunters can take a black bear, mountain lion or grey wolf if the opportunity presents itself with the purchase of additional tags. This hunting package includes your option of trophy elk hunts or whitetail deer hunts. Price includes food, tent accommodations, expert guide services (2:1 guide ratio), and transportation to and from the local airport to our full service camp site.

The greatest reservation a hunter has regarding game ranch is the fair chase concept, Most of our animals have lived their whole lives on the property and know its bounderies and hiding places, escape routes and hide in the deep canyons and heavy tree cover. Hunting area consists of pine covered hills and canyons with lots of cover, No state license or permit is required. We will haul game from hunting area to a walking cooler here on the ranch, you have the option from there to have us skin, gut and process the meat, or you may do it yourself breaking it down into your coolers at no charge.
