About this hunt

This hunt focuses on chasing High Country Elk with the opportunity to buy a mule deer tag with no change in hunt price. $7750 per person for 1 hunter with 1 guide and $6975 each for 2 hunters with 1 guide. This is a 7 day guided hunt. The first day is for driving into camp with an evening hunt available once you get settled. The last day is reserved for packing up and transporting you back to Missoula. During each of your 5 full days of hunting you will take a short ride to a nearby trail or walk out of camp to pursue elk and deer by either calling, spot and stalk, or still hunting. Your guide will provide you with information on which tactic will be the best option for taking a big mature buck or bull depending on the situation. This is steep country and the ability to climb 1000 to 2000 feet per day and hike 2-10 miles will increase your opportunity to harvest an animal. When we arrive at our Base Camp you will be greeted with a full time cook and a relaxing camping atmosphere. We provide your hunting party with a wall tent that includes a wood stove, lantern, cot and sleeping pad. Our Base Camp is located 30 miles into Idaho's rugged Bitterroot Mountains and gives you access to some of the most remote mule deer and elk hunting in the lower 48. We limit our end of the road camp to no more than two hunters per week. There is an opportunity to 'spike out' and hunt out of packs if prior arrangements have been discussed with the outfitter. Our staff will do our best to keep you comfortable during the duration of your trip so when it comes time to go after big game, you have the energy to push your limits. Our guides do everything in their power to put a good buck or bull in front of you. Our area holds a large variety of legal Mule Deer bucks and Bull Elk to give you the trophy potential to kill the animal of a lifetime.

Wounding

We follow a policy that is widely followed by Outfitters and Guides worldwide. A “wounded” animal is deemed “wounded” by the guide immediately upon the shot. It could be the way the animal responded when shot, could be blood, could be he/she saw the arrow or bullet strike the animal. Ultimately the final call is up to the guide. He/she makes the determination immediately upon shooting, whether or not the hunter agrees. We strive our hardest to retrieve any and all game animals shot but if the animal is not recovered your hunt is finished. You are welcome to stay for the allotted time of your hunt and either relax in camp or do some fishing.
