Duiker hunting in Ethiopia

Only one subspecies of Forest Duiker and two subspecies of Bush Duikers occur in Ethiopia. These Duikers make up the following groupings: East African Bush Duiker Group The Abyssinian Bush Goat is found in the central and southwest regions of the country. The Pale Grey Duiker is found in the northwestern areas of Ethiopia. Forest Duiker Group Harvey’s (Red) Duiker has a limited distribution in the southwest of the country. The Bush Duikers are also known as Common, Grey or Grimm’s Duikers. These highly adaptable Duikers are found along forest margins, woodland and savannahs. Harvey’s Duiker on the other hand as the grouping implies, is a Forest Duiker. Duikers are classified as a species of least concern by the IUCN and no special hunting permits are required.
