This is a spot and stalk hunt . We can either fly out or walk in for this backpack style hunt. We have 2 area's that we hunt sheep in, one is an over the counter tag in the Talkeetna Mountain's average sheep there is 34 inch's. Our other area is the famous 14C draw area in the Chugach Mountain's this is a trophy sheep area with ram's ranging between 39 and 42 inch's. Contact us for more info on the draw hunt. Unlike many other backpack Sheep hunts, we access the mountains in our company owned light aircraft on tundra tires, which means when you start your hunt, you’re already in Sheep country! Even so, you’re sure to earn your trophy on this rugged 1X1, 10 day backpack hunt. These horseback hunts take place north of the Arctic circle on the south side of the Brooks range. The use of horses allows us to cover a vast area that would otherwise be virtually impossible to hunt. You will fly into our remote gravel airstrip where we will meet you with a string of pack horses, load up your gear, and lead you to our rustic yet comfortable basecamp. From the basecamp, we will take horses further into the mountains and set up a spike camp consisting of two tents, a small kitchen, plenty of good food, and an astonishing view of the landscape. Generally, we will hunt on foot from there, occasionally taking saddle horses on day trips to cover more ground. Sheep hunts will be booked and conducted as a hard core traveling backpack hunt on 1x1. 100% success on sheep 2015! Spike camp will be carried by the client and guide, usually on a through-hike (not coming out the same way they went in). The clients will need to be in top physical and mental shape. During this hunt the weather generally is more forgiving. Rams are generally at higher elevations around 5,000 feet this time of year. The weather during the first two weeks of August is usually nice with temperatures ranging between light frost at night and 60 degrees Fahrenheit during the day. Our packs will be approximately 60lbs each. This will allow the guide to carry additional 100 lbs of game meat out and the hunter with 50 lbs of cape and horns. Air support will be utilized for pick up on a braided gravel bar of at least 500 ft. with a good approach. Hunting License and tags not included in above prices. Our company sells tags but you can also purchase at http://www.adfg.alaska.gov. For an additional fee of $3000 you can request your own packer to aid with your entire hunt. We have full time butcher to cut, grind and vacuum seal your game. High opportunity for harvesting multiple species that includes Sheep, Caribou and Grizzly. Caribou ($2500) and Grizzly ($7500) on a trophy fee basis while on the sheep hunt.

Alaska Dall Sheep Hunting. If you are looking for a real Alaskan trophy dall sheep and big game Outfitter, then hunt with us. Our Alaska dall sheep hunt takes place primarily in the historically game rich country of the Central Range east of the Alaska Denali National Park. These Alaska hunting trips are ten days in duration and begin in early August and end on the 20th of September. The average Alaska Dall Sheep Ram is 35-36 inches long with 13'+ bases. We do typically take several Rams a year in the 38'-40'+ range. The Alaska Range Rams are known for their wide flaring and light colored horns and make a fine addition to any hunters trophy room. A typical Sheep hunts entail riding up and down various drainages looking for a respectable Ram to go after. We like to tell hunters that they can expect to have a 5-7 hour, fairly arduous, climb from the time they leave the horses until they pull the trigger. The guide will cape and prepare the trophy and meat for the pack back to the horses.The guide will carry all the meat (100-120 lbs.) and we expect the client to carry the trophy (35lbs. for a shoulder mt. and 65-75 lbs. for a full body mt.) back to the horses. For this reason we require the client to bring a backpack of at least 3500 cu. in. capacity. Quite often we can hunt Alaska dall sheep right out of my two main camps but on occasion we will spike out for 2-5 days looking for a respectable ram to harvest. When we do we'll be staying in a good quality four season mountain tent and eating freeze dried food until we can add some fresh Alaska Dall Sheep to the menu. These hunts require the hunter to be both physically fit and have the mental toughness to stay positive when mother nature and the elements may seem to be conspiring against us. The horses allow us to cover an infinite amount of country as compared to backpack hunting for the Dall Sheep.

We have a nice variety of color phases in Grizzlies from blond highlights with dark legs to chocolate browns to silver tips. The Arctic Grizzly is also considered to be a Barren Ground Grizzly. Our Grizzly bear hunts are perfect to combine with a moose hunt. We have harvest some great trophy moose in the same areas as the grizzly with the racks between 55 and 70 inches. The moose hunts are normally done by jet or drift boat and calling the moose in for close shots. Ask us about a combo moose grizzly hunt, it is a great way to make the most of a Alaska hunting trip. We use the most up to date and proven equipment, gear, and supplies and provide our hunters with detailed information and gear list in the months prior to their hunt. Every detail matters to us and we take extra care to provide an incredible and memorable hunt. Moose trophy fee is additional: $4,500. Obtaining Tags and License please visit the State of Alaska Website (http://www.adfg.alaska.gov/index.cfm?adfg=hunting.main) for the needed tags and license(s). Trophy fees are to be paid one month prior to trip to the US office or Outfitter where they will be held until completion of the hunt and either kept by Outfitter for successful harvest of animals or returned to client within 10 days for any non-harvest of an animal. All species hunted or potentially hunted should be confirmed and paid for prior to arrival at camp to our US office.

We hunt sheep in the Alaska Range in and around the Denali Preserve. Our sole use guiding concession gives us access to some great country that is out of reach to all other guides. You do not need to draw a tag to hunt sheep in our area. All of our sheep hunts are backpack hunts which take us into some remote and spectacular areas. Additional animals can be added to your sheep hunt for those with the time and energy.
