Crocodile hunting in Mozambique

Crocodiles are a much feared prehistoric cold-blooded aquatic reptiles often not given enough respect by locals washing their laundry in Crocodile-infested rivers. These wily predators are responsible for numerous human deaths during the course of a year and PHs are often requested to destroy these man-eating Crocodiles. Crocodiles are found scattered throughout the country in suitable waterways and rivers like the Limpopo and Zambezi. Crocodile quotas are only given to outfitters with sustainable populations. Crocodiles may be hunted on a walk and stalk outing or by baiting. If the latter is an option the client will be requested to shoot a bait animal which is then staked to the ground and used to lure the crocodile into range. A temporary blind may be constructed overlooking the site. Crocodiles may also be hunted from a boat. Hunting a Crocodile requires import and export CITES permits from both Mozambique and the country to which the trophy will be exported. A prearranged license must be purchased before the hunt begins.
