Crocodile hunting in Ethiopia {{ totalToursString }}
Crocodiles are shown great respect by hunters as a general rule of thumb. Stay out of the water and stay safe or you could become a Croc’s next meal. These much-feared prehistoric reptiles are often not given enough respect by local communities who often end up being attacked by these fearsome animals. In many instances, PHs are often requested to destroy these man-eating Crocodiles.
Crocodile distribution in Ethiopia is limited to a few areas in the southwestern parts of the country.
Crocodiles can be difficult to hunt due to their acute sense of hearing. Some are hunted walk and stalk style while most require some sort of stake out to locate a suitable animal to hunt. Once located, a temporary hide may be built and/or a staked bait near the site may attract the reptile closer to affect a brain shot.
Hunting a Crocodile requires import and export CITES permits from both Ethiopia and the country to which the trophy will be exported. A prearranged license must be purchased before the hunt begins.
