Buffalo hunting in Namibia
We found 2 hunts
The name Buffalo is associated with the name Cape Buffalo which in turn is one of the six African Savanna Buffalo subspecies occurring on the continent.
Historically Buffalo occurred across the country except for the extremely dry western desert regions. Apart from the isolated pockets of Buffalo found on some game ranches and in the Waterberg, most Buffalo hunting takes place in the Zambezi Province, previously known as the Caprivi.
The Zambezi, Chobe and Okavango Rivers provide the best Buffalo habitat in Namibia. Large herds can be found concentrated on the floodplains and swamp land in the region.
Buffalo is listed as a species of least concern by the IUCN, no special international import and export permits are required except a valid Namibian license and government export permits. Some outfitters also offer non-exportable Buffalo hunts. In such cases, the hunter gets the experience and the local community gets the meat.
