Blesbuck hunting in South Africa ({{totalToursString}})

The Blesbok is aptly named for a characteristic white blaze - or “Bles” in Afrikaans - on its forehead. This spot makes it easy to identify. This medium-sized, endemic, once prolific species was nearly hunted into extinction. Through the country’s great conservation efforts it has become one of South Africa’s most common Highveld grassland species covering large portions of the central plateau. Quality trophies are available wherever it is hunted and makes for a long shot across the open plains of the Eastern Cape, North West and Free State Provinces. Both males and females have horns and they can be hunted throughout the day. Being a water dependent species they can be ambushed by bowhunters from a waterside blind. They do not jump fences and are contained by a normal stock fence thus making them a desirable game farming species. Formerly only the Common and White Blesbok were available for hunting. Nowadays numerous other colour variant Blesbok have been bred and offered by game ranchers. Owing to their abundant numbers and affordable prices, they are a sought after species by both international trophy and local meat hunters. Classified as a species of least concern by the IUCN, no special hunting permits are required.

Looking for best hunting trips for You...

Why do I see different types of prices?
There are two types of hunts on our platform: Package Hunts and Customizable Hunts. Package Hunts are fixed offers. Customizable Hunts usually allow you to select species and other parameters (number of hunters and guests, etc.) and then you can see the final price of your hunt.

"Package price" tag - this price tag is shown for package hunts, and it's a final price for an offer.

"Price from" tag - we show this tag for customizable hunts either when you search for particular species or when there is only one type of species in an offer. In both cases we include the minimum trophy fee available for this type of animal. It means that you see the final price of the offer, but you can also customize it (e.g. you can include a bigger trophy into your hunt).

"Daily rate fee" tag - this price does NOT include trophy fee. For example, if you are searching for a destination and we can't figure out the species you want, then we show this tag. You will need to include trophies from a hunt page.

Plainsgame Hunt/3 Free Hunting Days 1:1 Eastern Cape, South Africa

HUNT SPECIAL BOOK FOR A MINIMUM OF 7 DAYS AND GET AN ADDITIONAL 3 DAYS FREE Only available to the first 5 clients booking this offer. The Eastern Cape is blessed with large game populations that are constantly growing in number. The exquisite hunting terrain, from rugged mountains and thickly bushed valleys, to long stretches of open grassland plains, offers a challenging African hunt for the inexperienced or professional hunter alike. Best suited to “spot and stalk” or “walk and stalk” rifle hunting, the additional opportunity to bow hunt is available. Bow hunting is mainly done in well-constructed blinds, but as most of our hunting is done in the dryer months, the option to walk and stalk is available. Our game management plan, with conservation as the main outcome, ensures that the game is in prime condition. Our dry and cool season coincides with the main hunting season (April to October) which provides comfortable hunting conditions. Trophy Hunting Hunting is conducted in an efficient and ethical manner and the large variety of prime condition species makes trophy hunting with us, a truly memorable experience. Using well trained trackers and skinners, your trophy will be cared for and correctly handled. Your PH will offer you as much advice as you deem necessary to be certain in your animal selection. All PHs used by us are qualified and where possible a member of an accredited association. Cull Hunting With our management plan, there are opportunities for management (cull) hunting. These hunts are very important as they keep the biodiversity and animal populations in harmony with the land. Combined Cull and Trophy packages are available.
