About this hunt

Moose Hunt package #3: Our trophy moose hunt is completely remote and offered on a limited basis. Our trophy hunts are conducted from a 12x16 wooden structured cabin with a wood stove and bunk beds. Guides will be doing the cooking on this hunt. Success rate on these hunts is 100%. Hunts are fully one on one guided and is a 7 day adventure. We also have one executive lodge for this hunt as well, it is listed on our website as silver bullet lodge. Approx. 1800 sq ft cabin with a full time cook on staff with all the comforts of home including hot shower, wifi and much more. Average bulls on this hunt are between 44-49 inches, with bulls in excess of 50 inches taken each year. Sold out until 2027. Prices starting at $15200 + tag and taxes Trophy moose hunt. This Newfoundland moose hunt is offer on limited basis. These hunts have yielded moose in the range of 44-59 inch antler spreads. The largest one at 59 was a feature story in the Nov-Dec 2006 issue of Safari Magazine and a placement of # 7 SCI. These hunts are very rugged and demanding and based from heavy canvass comfortable outfitting wall tents. The average spread from these hunts is 48 inches. The 3 largest over the past 4 years have been 59, 57 and 54. Hunt includes guides , meals, transportation to from airport or hotel as well as floatplane or helicopter transportation during your hunt. Also included trophy and meat preparation including boxing for shipment home.

EHA operates its lodges in Moose and Black Bear units 18.19..27.28 37 and Within Woodland Caribou units 64 and 61. With multiple camp locations, its own aircraft and an array of Newfoundland wilderness experience EHA can offer you the best wilderness and hunting experience Newfoundland has to offer. Newfoundland boasts some of the highest moose population densities on the planet and the only huntable herd of Woodland Caribou as well as Black Bears on record of 680 lbs.. We offer both remote fly-in hunts as well as ground access hunts. All hunting lodges are of wooden construction and have all home amenities. We do however, offer various spike/tent camps for short stays and week long hunts.

Where you will stay

Silver Bullet Lodge

Located overlooking Salmon Brook tributary of the Grey River. This lodge built of white cedar logs is a world class facility boasting 1800 square feet of living space. Two full washrooms, 5 bedrooms indoor running water with propane fired hot water. The lodge can accommodate as many as 6 guests for fly fishing for Atlantic Salmon, but for Trophy moose hunting we only host 2 hunters at one time. A great lodge if you are looking to bring a non hunter along for your journey. Huge hills surrounding the river valley offer a prime location for spotting animals. Superb trophy moose hunting and Black bear. Lodge has full time chef and is only accessible by helicopter.

How to get there

Navigation guidelines

Guest are required to arrive in St. John’s (YYT), Deer Lake (YDF) or Gander (YQX) the day before your hunt is scheduled to start. Overnight in a hotel the day you arrive. Guests will be picked up the next morning and transported to float-plane base for early afternoon flight to camp or driven to the ground access lodge. There is a $100/person fee for St. John’s pickup. EHA will send you a trip itinerary for your hunt when you book a hunt. Driving guests hunting from Sept 13-Oct 12 will have to arrive at Peter Strides Pond which is about a 2 1/2 hour drive from Port Aux Basques. Driving guests hunting from Oct 13-Nov 10 will need to drive to Thorburn Lake which will take about six hours from Port aux Basques. A Newfoundland Road Map with marked locations will be sent to driving guests.

  • If a hunter decides to leave camp early it is at his own expense to get back to the hotel.They will be responsible for flight out of camp about $1200 US + about $400 for a taxi back to the airport/hotel.

Payment notes

25% deposit is due to EHA, payable by credit card, wire transfer or check sent in the mail. 25% due the end of march the year of your scheduled hunt. The remaining 50% is due 60 days before your hunt by wire transfer or personal check, it can also be paid on arrival by certified check or cash only.
