About this hunt
Sika deer are a fascinating and resilient species that have made their home in Ireland for over 150 years. Originating from Japan and East Asia, these graceful animals were first introduced to Ireland in the mid-19th century and have since adapted to the local environment. Known for their distinctive spotted coats and unique behaviors, sika deer can often be found in woodlands and upland regions across the country.
