About this hunt

We offer mountain goat hunting on Baranof Island, Alaska, with the season running from August 1st through December 31st. During the late season (November-December), weather conditions can be quite challenging, with more frequent storms, heavy snow, and low visibility. It is a 7-day hunt, usually hiking many miles each day and climbing up to 1000ft in elevation. For those looking for this unique trophy, it’s a great time to come, but be prepared for a more demanding hunt. From August through October, the weather is generally milder, with less frequent rain, fog, and wind. For those interested in fly-in hunts, we offer these options during August and early September. You would fly into Sitka via Alaska Airlines, and from there, we’ll take you on a small float plane to a secluded lake. From there, you’ll hike out and camp in tents for the duration of your hunt. If you successfully harvest a mountain goat, we will handle all trophy preparation in the field, including field dressing and packing the skull and cape for transport. Afterward, we’ll arrange for the return flight with your trophy, either sending it directly with you or to a taxidermist or expediter in Anchorage. The cost for a 7-day mountain goat hunt is $16,500, which includes tents, meals, snacks, and beverages. Please note that this price does not cover the cost of your hunting tags/licenses, personal gear, float plane charter, or alcoholic beverages. If you're ready for a challenging and rewarding Alaskan adventure, this is the hunt for you.
