About this hunt
This is probably our favourite UK species to stalk. Highly active and alert, they appear and disappear from nowhere, the bucks are very territorial, making for exciting standoffs when calling them, they are not called the 'Barking Deer' for nothing! These animals rarely stand still for more than a few seconds so be ready to take your chance!
Stalking begins at first light, making our way very slowly through thick woodland and headlands. 90 % of shots are taken from shooting sticks at ranges from 20m - 150m, high seats are also used and situated in strategic positions across the estate.
After the morning stalk, guests will return to their accomodation for a hearty english breakfast and rest for a few hours or sight see before stalking commences in the afternoon, finishing at last light.
