Our company was established in 2000 and operates in 4 territories.
- We are a small family outfit that specialize in ethical free range mountain hunting and pride ourselves on delivering quality hunts of a life time. Joseph has hunted extensively through out the South Island as well as 2 seasons working as a glacier guide on Fox Glacier and 2 seasons as a packer/assistant guide in BC Canada.
- We focus on the real hunters hunt, no high fences, no AATH/"Heli Hunting', just good honest hunting that provides not only a trophy but a real adventure and an experience of a life time.
- We have access to a number of large free range private properties as well a concession to guide on public land(wilderness hunts) on both he East and Western Sides of the Southern Alps so we can tailor a hunt to suit you. ALL of our hunts are genuine free range foot hunts, the way hunting should be.
- Quality Guides - We have the skills and knowledge to ensure you have a safe and successful mountain hunt. When we are not guiding we are hunting!
- Good equipment- We have quality gear to ensure your stay in the mountains is as comfortable as possible, we also have a selection of top quality European rifles for you to use on your hunt if you do not wish to travel with a firearm.
- We offer private land hunts with good comfortable accommodation right through to full back pack wilderness adventures. We can tailor the hunt around what you want.
About this hunt
This is a classic high country hunt for a majestic Red Stag trophy. Hunting is conducted on a Large sheep station(ranch) which has basic but comfortable accommodation in the form of huts/cabins and farm houses.
The area has 4x4 access and some roads we can scout the area from but hunting is conducted on foot. This area hold good potential for trophy stags in the 250-300" class carrying 12-14+ points.
This is a must do hunt for the serious mountain hunter.
We differ from most New Zealand outfitters in that we ONLY hunt real free-range wild Red stags. Our Stag hunting areas are relatively open and mountainous and this can be a physically demanding hunt. These areas are completely free range and stags can come and go as they please. For the ‘real’ hunter, chasing free red stags is an exciting and challenging hunt. Stags can be hunted from February (hard velvet/stripping) through into the winter, June/July. The most popular time to hunt stags is during the Rut or ‘Roar’. The Roar is generally from mid-March-late April with the peak of the rut normally around the first 2 weeks of April. Territory
This a large game rich property we have access to primarily for Tahr, with a small population of Wild red deer .
The area is dominated by 3 large river valleys, with elevation ranging from the valley floor at 650m/2000ft to the tops of the ridges at 6500ft.
We have a number of cabins/huts for accommodation with our main base camp being a large comfortable cabin with running water and solar power.
