Springbuck are the only true gazelle found in Southern Africa. This beautiful, small antelope is most impressive during a pronking display. This peculiar behavioural display entails the animal bouncing on all fours, leaping high in the air revealing a crest of white fur from their arched backs. The Kalahari Springbuck is a revered specimen of this species found throughout the dry, semi-arid grasslands of the country, including the Kalahari Desert from whence it gained its name. Their horn length and thickness is staggeringly more impressive than the Common Springbuck making it an iconic Namibian trophy animal. Once a migratory species causing dust clouds seen for miles.
