STEEL MOUNTAIN LODGE

Our company came about when Ben and Heather purchased property in 1966. It was immediately expanded to include six cabin units in close proximity to Flat Bay River at the base of scenic Steel Mountain, an area well known to Big Game Hunters and Atlantic Salmon Fishermen alike. Ben Alexander was one of the first Members & President of the Newfoundland Labrador Outfitters Association (NLOA) and worked tirelessly with the association. For over 50 years he consulted with various interest groups, government departments, and local hunters to promote sustainability and enhance this tourism potential for Newfoundland.
