The property we hunted was reserved for bow hunting only
The only downside was the weather. The wind blew for 3 days so strong it was almost unsafento be in a tree. This is not the outfitters fault.

First Time On Guided Whitetail Bow Hunt
10.0
I have hunted in PA since the 1960's. This was my first time to ever hunt outside PA. Montana topography is much different than PA's. The week was interesting and fun. Made a mental mistake the first morning. Had my bow hanging on a hook while watching one way, when a shooter buck walked under my stand from the opposite direction at 10 yds. Opps! after that I saw big bucks either at a distance or it was to dark to shoot. Then came Friday (the last day0. I saw many deer all over the area around my tree stand. Finally my opportunity arrived at about 8:00 am. A nine point at about 30 yds. My Montana trophy was mine. Everyone there, the guides, fellow hunters and cooks, were both professional and enjoyable to with. It was a great week of hunting in the northwest.
It is a long way from PA to Montana, so I flew. Could not bring my antlers back with me. Had to wait until the following spring to have them shipped from the taxidermist.

Everything they run a top knotch business
Guides kill their selves to make your hunt successful and know the game moments so you always see game
Late season elk hunting is touch and go due to weather I like late November for the whitetail rut so a combo hunt that I do is a lot more challenging on finding a trophy bull and the herd sizes. but that's my decision not the outfitters. Thanks

Montana Rifle - Bucks and Bulls

From the time you get off of interstate 90 heading north to the new lodge, all you see is wildlife everywhere. Keith and Steve will do everything possible to fulfill your hunting experience with a quality animal. I booked the 2015 rifle elk and whitetail hunt and could not have had a better experience. Ended up harvesting a beautiful 6x6 bull elk, cow elk and a mature whitetail buck. There private ranches and river bottom property are properly managed so you can count on good animals being there. Tree stand bow hunters will love the setups on the river bottom for whitetails because Keith and Steve are experienced bow hunters themselves and carefully place quality stands in strategic areas and use the wind each and every day to put you in the proper stand for that days conditions. My first hunt was an early season whitetail bow hunt in 2008 and I shot a nice mature 8 point. During my first day out I had a moose come into stand and saw antelope, whitetail and mule deer. These guys do their homework for you and do the best they possibly can to give you an opportunity for a successful hunt. Going back again this year to do it again........2016
What I did not like has nothing to do with the but for me I like to eat what I harvest, so flying is not an option. Pack up the vehicle and drive from Pennsylvania to Montana. We used to drive straight threw but since we are getting older it now takes us two days. We break up the driving with a visit to Mt. Rushmore. Maybe this year we will visit the Crazy Horse Memorial.

Archery elk hunt -sept. 2015

I was able to harvest a very nice 6x6 elk on the very first night of the hunt, actually the very first time I ever hunted elk. My guide, Steve and I had a whole herd of elk come by us, approximately 200-300 elk, lots of bulls, on Sept. 20, rut was just peaking, bulls were going crazy, chasing cows, bugling, fighting, we were in the right spot at the right time!! These guides know their hunting areas and know how and where the elk move. We ambushed the herd we saw coming down from the timber in the evening to feed in alfalfa fields on one of the private ranches that they lease. The food was very good and their accomodations were very nice, they just built a new log cabin lodge. The stocked trout pond at the lodge was a nice bonus, full of big, hungry trout, and they supplied the rods and tackle.
I also hunted whitetails, saw lots of deer, many bucks, but no shooter bucks, but weather turned hot and windy, was in the 90's in Sept., bigger bucks were laying low, also was early to hunt deer, closer to rut in Nov. would be much better for whitetails. I picked Sept. to hunt mainly to hunt the elk rut, which worked out perfectly. There are a lot of deer in their hunting areas. The weather got hotter and windier as my week went by, unusually hot for that time in Montana, which affected deer movement, especially the bigger bucks.

Great Hunt - Can't Wait to Go Back!

Lots of good quality animals and the terrain/altitude was very manageable. The least physically demanding elk hunt I've been on. Knowledgeable, professional, hard-working guides and each night is spent in a beautiful new lodge, complete with a catch & release trout pond.
