Welcome from Inzana Outfitters
Paul & Marilyn Trepus
Inzana Outfitters is a big game hunting operation located in North Central British Columbia, Canada. We have the exclusive guiding rights to over 3000 square miles of territory. Paul and Marilyn Trepus bought the guide business in 1999 and have a great team of guides and cooks that work hard to provide top notch world class hunting adventurers.
Our territory spans the continental divide with water in the north flowing to the famous Nation Lakes and on to the Arctic Ocean, while water in the south flows to the Fraser River and on to the Pacific Ocean. Inzana Outfitters has all the scenic beauty that makes British Columbia so amazing, from the high alpine mountain ranges to the rolling timbered hills and aspen forests. We have over 200 lakes including Takla Lake (the 5th largest lake in BC). The outflowing Middle River is a salmon-bearing river and has produced Rainbow trout up to 14 lbs. Other native game fish species include Lake trout and Dolly Varden trout. The lower elevation areas are managed forests and we have a good mix of new and old clear cuts which provide excellent moose and wildlife habitat, and sustain the highest moose densities.
Inzana Outfitters specializes in full service big game hunting adventures including Moose Hunting, Black Bear Hunting, Elk Hunts and Wolf Hunting. All hunting packages include your accommodations, meals, transportation around our guiding area and a professional licensed guide.

A hunters hunt!
8.7
Hard working dedicated guide(s)
A sober/non-alcoholic camp
Remote nonpressured territory
My guide and the others that I met all worked VERY HARD to get their client's on game; It was very evident that a successful hunt was THE objective.
Not a huge deal but
a little more thought on getting some good pictures
and
a clean tarp for meat transport

Paul and his guides are awesome. they know what they are going and are fun to hang with. We tagged out early and were able to enjoy a few days around camp. Amazing hunting experience and very kind folks.

Great outfitter

Paul and Marilyn run a fantastic operation. Not only did we see a lot of game but the hospitality was fantastic as well. If you didn't even go hunt and just stayed back to eat Marilyn's homemade food, it would be worth it :)

I was really excited for a bucket-list moose hunt, but it ended up being a real letdown…
3.7
Kelton… a young guide working for the outfitter was excellent. A little immature and made a few mistakes from a guiding standpoint. However, he was extremely enthusiastic, worked really hard, and I do believe he cared a lot about his hunters success… I spent a week with him. He felt bad That I saw very few moose(4) and never saw a bull Or had a chance to shoot. I would, however, hunt with him again if he was with a different outfitter.
Paul… the outfitter and guide. First, we arrived at camp the day before the hunt starting on October 20.The hunt was sold as a moose/wolf combo. The Canadian government had shut down on September 2. Apparently, as a result, there were issues obtaining hunting licenses. He informed me at that time that he could not get a wolf tag for me because of this. He was very matter of fact and unapologetic. He also did not have my hunting partners fish and wildlife ID (FWID)number. The only reason he had mine was because I had hunted a mountain goat in British Columbia last year (which my outfitter took care of well in advance) . So he was able to issue me a moose tag, but wasn’t sure when he’d be able to issue my partners, moose tag and needed to work on that in the morning of the first day of the hunt. Ultimately he work it out, but these should’ve been things that should’ve been taken care of well in advance, and if there were issues with them because of the shutdown, he should have let us know well in advance of our arrival.
Personally, He tended to be a bit of a “know it all” and with respect toanything we talked about from religion to hunting, he portrayed himself as an expert. This became old through the course of the week.
He guided my friend for an entire week. My friend was extremely frustrated by the end of the week. His communication was terrible. He told my friend they were going to hunt in a meadow one evening and then he changed his mind and. He literally had him climb a 50 foot three with a rifle in hand that had no tree stand or ladder and proceeded to hunt out of this without really letting Him know what they were going to be doing. They did have a very poor opportunity that evening on a large bull that did not work out. However, if they had sat in the meadow where he had initially said they were going, it is very likely they would’ve had a successful hunt that evening.
My friend is an outfitter himself and excellent hunter and Paul accused him of making multiple mistakes because things were not working out the way that Paul wanted. Things were never Paul’s fault.
Paul asked him to take “free hand shot” at a moose while standing up In a moving boat without any rest At over 200 yards away. In our opinions., this was a very unsafe and unethical shot to take. Then, when my friend did not feel comfortable and declined, Paul was mad at him.
During the week, while riding in the boat, Paul would frequently jab my friend in the back with a paddle to get his attention and then, he would criticize for any actions such as making too much noise. In contrast, while they were walking out to hunt in the evening, he would use a chainsaw to cut down tree, branches, and right after he was done cutting them down admonish him to be quiet while they were Hiking on the trail to the spot that they were going to hunt.
Paul told me when I booked the hunt that this was his most successful hunt for the last five years. We had zero success. Two individuals that were finishing up their hunt in which a few days overlap with ours had been there the year before, and neither had taken a moose. One of the hunters finally was able to take a young moose this year. So they hunted for 14 days between last year and this year with only one moose to show, we had zero success.
The reality is that the area Likely has plenty of moose and the accommodations were reasonable. The hunt could actually have a lot of promise if it were not for the way Paul ran it and handled his guests/clients.
I truly hate having written all of this, my intent is not to disparage anyone, but the reality is I would be very cautious About booking this hunt And I feel obliged to help protect other hunters.
To his credit, as I was leaving, Paul offered to try and “ cut me a deal” on a future moose hunt since I had no shooting opportunities. But because of the overall experience, I am already looking for another moose hunt next year, but have no intention of utilizing Inzana.

Amazing experience with Inzana Outfitters in BC
9.7
Paul and his guides are high energy, positive, and eager to put the effort in finding and harvesting the species being hunted. Paul has vast knowledge of BC and a extremely large hunt area with litte to no hunting pressure. Pauls area is true wilderness proven by the abuduntant game animals we saw. During our stay, my wife and I saw moose, grizzly bears, black bears, wolves, mule deer, elk, whitetal, and a variety or small game and waterfowl. I heard elk bugle, wolves howl, and moose grunting-it does not get any better than that.
I harvested a great Bull Moose and a large black bear boar during my stay and two other hunters in camp also took bull moose while I was hunting. Paul and his guides handeled the skinning and prepping hides and made arrangements for alocal butcher to process our meat.
Paul has remote outpost cabins surrounded by multiple lakes that provide a hunt where you see game tracks and your own-no one else.
I felt many of the game animals we saw likely had never seen a human before; this is big country, wild, and pure; if you are looking for adventure, its the real thing. I dont know where else you can see this beautiful of country and see this many different game species in one trip!
My only challange was dealing with customs with my gun. I have hunted in Canada several times before but always had my final destination at the airport of entry. This time because I was flying into Vancouver and then on to Prince George I had to re check everything in Vancouver and that caused me to miss my connecting flight. When I return, I will utilize Pauls collection of high caliber rifles which he rents; that would save a lot of time, hassle, and money.
