Leopard hunting in Tanzania ({{totalToursString}})
Leopards are shy, nocturnal animals and a challenge to hunt. With highly adapted senses, it can be difficult to outwit a Leopard. Client’s often inquire about Outfitters success rates and the success of a Leopard hunt often depends on numerous factors of which many are beyond the control of the professional hunter.
These highly adaptable big cats are found in a variety of habitats. Leopards, both males and females are territorial with the male territories overlapping with the females. The size of the territories varies according to the availability of prey species. Generally, Leopard territories are bigger in the more semi-arid areas where game is not as plentiful.
Leopards are found throughout the country and can be successfully hunted in Masailand, Rungwa and some large Leopards have been hunted in the Maswa area. The Selous has one of the biggest Leopard populations in the country and several magnificent specimens have been hunted in Western Tanzania.
The use of camera traps has made Leopard baiting much easier and a handy tool to use to identify the cats age and sex, as only males may be hunted in Tanzania. “Mr Spots” may also only be hunted during daylight hours. Classified as vulnerable by the IUCN, CITES permits are required prior to the commencement of your hunt and they may only be hunted with a minimum of a 21 day hunting license.

Why do I see different types of prices?
There are two types of hunts on our platform: Package Hunts and Customizable Hunts. Package Hunts are fixed offers. Customizable Hunts usually allow you to select species and other parameters (number of hunters and guests, etc.) and then you can see the final price of your hunt.
"Package price" tag - this price tag is shown for package hunts, and it's a final price for an offer.
"Price from" tag - we show this tag for customizable hunts either when you search for particular species or when there is only one type of species in an offer. In both cases we include the minimum trophy fee available for this type of animal. It means that you see the final price of the offer, but you can also customize it (e.g. you can include a bigger trophy into your hunt).
"Daily rate fee" tag - this price does NOT include trophy fee. For example, if you are searching for a destination and we can't figure out the species you want, then we show this tag. You will need to include trophies from a hunt page.
