About hunting in Tucuman

Also called El Jardín de la República (The Garden of the Republic), the Tucuman province is a highly productive area in terms of both agriculture and pigeon and dove hunting. Read more...

Tucumán is the smallest, and the second most densely populated province in Argentina, but it boasts a diverse geography ranging from the arid plains in the east to the lush, forested mountains of the Aconquija and Nevado del Aconquija ranges in the west. The province is part of the Sierras Pampeanas region and is known for its varied ecosystems, including subtropical forests and high-altitude grasslands. The rich and varied ecosystems of Tucumán support a diverse range of plant life, with dense forests in the mountainous areas and more arid vegetation in the plains. Compared to other Argentine provinces, Tucumán is less focused on recreational hunting and more renowned for trekking and other similar outdoor activities. However, the fertile agricultural areas do offer hunting opportunities, particularly for pigeon and dove shooting. In fact, some outfitters describe Tucuman as "the newest frontier in dove hunting Argentina", and the harvest numbers are not lower than in most other provinces. The most common route for international travelers is to fly into Buenos Aires and then take a domestic flight to Tucumán's capital, San Miguel de Tucumán. The province is also accessible by road, offering scenic routes through the diverse landscapes of northwest Argentina. The province is rich in history and culture, famously known as the birthplace of Argentine independence. Historical sites and cultural tours are significant attractions. Tucumán also offers unique culinary experiences, with local dishes influenced by indigenous and Spanish cuisine. Hide details
