About hunting in Missouri

Located in the Midwestern United States, Missouri is a state filled with outstanding hunting opportunities and a blend of hunting cultures from both the Midwest and South. Its diverse terrain includes the open, rolling hills of the Great Plains north of the Missouri River, and, in the southern part of the state, the still-wild and heavily forested Ozark Mountains. The rugged Ozarks are mostly covered with oak-hickory forest, with some open areas in the bottomlands. White-tailed deer and wild turkeys are the headline species in Missouri, but the state also boasts hunting opportunities for many other species, including a variety of small game, furbearers, upland birds, and waterfowl. Turkeys are hunted in Missouri in both spring and fall. White-tailed deer trophy quality in Missouri is historically very good, although the state is not as famous as some of its neighbors for B&C-quality racks. The northern counties have historically been the best areas to find exceptional trophy bucks. Deer hunting is conducted in a variety of ways, including stand-hunting, still-hunting, and putting on drives. Hunting over bait is prohibited. Hunter orange is required during the firearms deer season, and antler-point restrictions apply in some counties. I liked the amount of birds and getting to hear some gobblers in the morning time! Bob and Karen were great host ! He knew his land and had it well managed great time !

All good no issues. Except a few ticks but you will have that during turkey season.

It's not a big property but there's a bunch of game traffic....i was fortunate to call in a couple bucks and take a shot at one but not get it with my longbow. That's my own fault. For the price I'm more than happy and the lodge is great. Internet not so much. But definitely got my monies worth and then some

Opportunities were there, nice stand placements for gun hunters, seen some great bucks, and in a week seen over 40 deer, lots of turkey, and wildlife.

Compound bow hunting could be catered to a bit more, although i was very happy with overall options of stands.

Bob really worked hard and tried to help us however he could to make our hunt successful. He knows his land well. It was super early and the birds were hened up and had a big cold front but we stayed with them. My son got a huge bird after we got them patterned. His first Tom. 1-3/8 spurs . Memories that will last a lifetime. Stay with them and be patient. Saw Tons and tons of deer. Man o man was it loaded with deer. Every where we set up we had deer come by us. Every single time.
