With its vast tracts of wilderness, and abundant populations of game from roebuck and chamois to brown bear and wolf, Bosnia and Herzegovina is one of the most underappreciated hunting destinations in Europe.

Bosnia and Herzegovina is a small, but sparsely populated country in southeastern Europe, on the Balkan Peninsula, between Croatia on the west, Serbia on the east, and Montenegro on the southwest. The center and east of the country are mountainous, while the northwestern and northeastern regions are more hilly to flat. Bosnia and Herzegovina is not currently a member of the EU or Schengen Agreement, but citizens of over 100 countries from the USA and EU member states to Russia and China can enter it without a visa, with just a valid passport.

Hunting methods

Wolf and bear are usually hunted from high seats over bait; for wolf hunting night vision devices are allowed. Foreign hunters typically need to arrange their hunts through licensed outfitters or local hunting clubs, which can also provide guides and assist with necessary permits. Please note that Bosnia and Herzegovina is a highly decentralized country, consisting of many parts which may have different hunting seasons and laws.
