African Wild Cat hunting in Tanzania
We found 1 hunt
African Wild Cat is a silver, grey-brown cat similar in size to the average domestic cat. Like all cats, they feed on small rodents, lizards, snakes and birds, even prey of a similar size, namely rabbits, hares and springhares. These very adaptable species are found in diverse habitats, ranging from mountains, and forests to grasslands.
African Wild Cats can be hunted throughout Tanzania. However, they are only normally hunted as a trophy of opportunity by a true collector.
African Wild Cat hunting needs some luck as this species cannot be specifically targeted like most animals. This hunt is made even tougher in Tanzania as these nocturnal animals cannot be hunted after sunset and before sunrise. So you cannot drive around shining a light looking for eyes. Like all cats, they hiss and hum when threatened and they are preyed upon by all the larger predators and birds of prey.
African Wild Cats are classified as a species of least concern by the IUCN. A prearranged hunting license must be purchased before you start your hunt.
