About this hunt

We deliver New Zealand's finest estate hunting experience. Family-owned and operating New Zealand's largest independently-audited, NZAGE-certified game estate, we provide hunters with greater area, trophy choice and fair-chase principles than any other New Zealand property. This entry-level 5-day hunt is for a Red Stag up to 350 inches - a truly classic Red Stag trophy. Our Red Deer herd features stags from 300 inches to 500-plus inches. All animals are fair game to any hunter and hunts can be upgraded at any time up to and during the hunt itself. A second hunter can join the hunt for a savings of $500 per person over the single hunter price, hunting 2x1. Companions can join the hunt for $1000, all-inclusive. This all-inclusive hunt is based from our hunters' lodge located on the 10,000 acre property. With 6 rooms and a maximum of 6 hunters at any one time, the lodge is the perfect sanctuary for the discerning hunter. We also offer a back-country cabin for an authentic 'bush hunt' experience. On the estate you can hunt Red Stag, Fallow Buck, Arapawa Ram, Pacific Goat, Wild Boar and Small Game. Tahr, Chamois and Elk are all available locally within a drive or helicopter flight. Note: Genuine Free-range Red Stags in New Zealand rarely make 300 inches. No genuine free-range outfitter will offer any score guarantee on their stags. Treat any 'free-range' red stag hunt promising an animal over 300" with caution. The only way to guarantee a fair-chase hunt for stags in the 300"+ range is to hunt on a New Zealand Association of Game Estates (NZAGE) certified estate.

Where you will hunt

Territory

The game estate is the largest independently audited and certified hunting estate in New Zealand. Bounded by our farming operation to the south and east and the Korowai-Torlesse Tussocklands Park to the north and west. The area is approximately two thousand hectares (4500 acres) of contiguous hunting land. The terrain is a mix of open tussock grassland, native beech forest, steep hill country and easy ridges. Over 30 miles (50 kilometres) of tracks encircle the estate’s perimeter and high ridges, allowing vehicular access to a range of critical vantage points for spotting game.. This aspect makes our station especially suitable for those with limited mobility or time, but who still want a fair-chase hunt on an expansive estate. Of course, for those wishing to stalk on foot, we simply leave the vehicle at the bottom of the hill and start walking.

Great Hunting in the Land of Magic

10.0 of 10

Magnificent animals, hard working guides who are fun to be with in the land of enchantment. Equal opportunities for excellent multi-species stalking style hunting with simultaneous, quality activities for everyone else, if it's a family vacation. Literally, the best of both worlds. The best guided hunt of my life.

I wish I had sceduled a longer stay, with time to hunt a couple of other species in addition to the Red Stags.

I have been twice and going again

My group of hunters were the only hunters. If their station did not have the animals we were looking for they found the best place and took us. Elk down around Queenstown and Chamois by Mount Cook.
