Black faced impala hunting in Namibia {{ totalToursString }}
Black-faced Impala is an athletic medium-sized antelope only found in Namibia and Southern Angola. Unlike the Southern (Common) Impala which is well distributed across central and eastern Africa, this species may only be hunted in Namibia.
Black-faced Impala is not readily hunted as is the case with the Southern Impala and is more of a collector’s species. The main difference to the Southern Impala as would expect from the name is the face which has a very noticeable black muzzle. This arid-adapted species evolved due to its geographical isolation over thousands of years.
Black-faced Impala is native to the north-western areas of the country which forms part of northern Namibia, upwards of the Swakop River in the west. This endemic species is classified as “specially protected,” according to the Namibian Government’s Nature Conservation Ordinance.
Black-faced Impala may not be imported into the USA.
