very poor amount of game. Ailan gave it his best shot but the areahas been over hunted and recent fires has not helped.

Very nice people and very good accomodations allan is a very good hunter but if game isnt there what can you do.

Bruce’s review on his mule deer hunt does not represent our hunts. We hunt moose and goat from remote camps 40 miles from anyone. Black bear hunts are done with a truck and on foot and we go where ever we can in the 1200 square miles of our area to locate bears. Bruce came in early September, hunting for 5 days. At Bruce’s wishes, we hunted on horseback, near our home place, limiting the area that we could hunt to about 5 square miles and unfortunately there were other hunters in the area at that time. On top of that, the weather was unseasonably wet and cold, shutting down movement and visibility. The forest fires were from 2014, and only a small portion of our area was burned. The burned out area is rebounding and providing excellent forage. We enjoyed meeting Bruce and his wife and having them in camp and appreciate their kind words.

I was so blessed to have been able to go and do this hunt. My husband didn't think I could ride a horse for the amount of time I did but it was all worth it. Owen is not the one that hunted. I did the hunting.

Chilanko team/ family helped me get my first deer

I had a great time and a great hunting experience with Allan and his family last Fall (October, 2021). They are very friendly and know how to make us feel welcome. Regarding the hunting itself, I can only thank Allan and his daughter Julian for putting me in the right place, at the right time to harvest the first big game animal I’ve ever shot. I got a 4 point buck in the third day of the hunt. I had the chance to shot one in the first day, but I missed it. One differential in getting Allan as a guide is the fact that he has horses. I was worried to go hunt because my knee hurts sometimes. However, with the horses (and sometimes covering longer distances with the truck), I didn’t have problems at all. So, not only is he very experienced in hunting and knows the area very well, he also has other features to support the hunter: horses, his truck, other licensed guides in his family. 

I had a small cabin for myself, good food provided, breakfast and lunch. We would also have sandwiches, juice, fruit for the time we were out. Denise (Allan’s wife) cooks really well.

 Therefore, I recommend Allan and his team to guide you on your trip. I was able to get to know their moose camp, and I got caught by it. I might try to have a second hunt with them in the future.

Amazing hospitality

Allan and Denise were good hosts. Their daughter Gillan came and was my guide for 2 days. I got a nice big buck on my 4th day.

A great hunting experience

A real fair hunt, spot and stalk, no bates allowed in this area. Experienced guide that gave a great hunt and also a lot of information and stories about hunting, the nature and the culture, that was new for me. Very relieble hosts.

Great people and hunting

Allen and his guides were top notch people. Very hospitable and great hunters. Our group is looking forward to the next time we can get out with and hunt with them again.
