More about us
Our company was established in 2010 and operates in 1 territory.
High Desert Ranch & Outfitting LLC is all family owned and operated since our establishment in 2010. Hunting with us means a complete adventure where you feel like part of our family as we enjoy the abundant wildlife and unreal scenery that Northwest Colorado is known for. We believe that when you pay to hunt private land, you need to feel like you are on private. Therefore, we carefully manage the number of hunters we take and implement adequate resting periods between hunts. We also run our own cattle on our land so we can effectively manage the habitat and ultimately leave abundant water, feed, and shelter for the wildlife. It is a year around labor of love that is invested into our ranches to make them some of the best western hunting destinations around. Come see for yourself why we enjoy such great opportunity and have so many return clients that turn into lifelong friends.About this hunt
If you are looking for a unique and historic way to enjoy Northwest Colorado and fill your freezer, this is the experience for you. Our bison hunts take place on 3,000 acres where you will see over 500 head of great American Bison. You will be able to take the trophy bull with the weapon of your choice. We will transport your bison to the local meat processor and taxidermist where you can have your bison cut, wrapped, and frozen at your expense. This is a two day and three night trip to allow time for the processor to have your meat ready for you to bring home with you. Observers are welcome for an extra $500 per person.

Territory
We operate on 10,500 acres of private land free range, no high fences. We range from 6,800 to 8,400 feet in elevation making perfect habitat for elk, mule deer, and pronghorn antelope. The lower elevation consists of rolling grass and sage brush hills. As the elevation rises the cover gets much more dense with oak brush and aspen trees. We have abundant water resources throughout in the form of creek bottoms and ponds.
