About this hunt

Hunt big Red Stags in the lush bush clad mountains of the North Island with bow, rifle or muzzle loader. You can expect to see over 20 trophy stags per day and have an abundance of selection and opportunities. This hunt includes red stag trophy fee, accommodation at our lodge, all dining and beverages, open bar, guiding throughout the hunt, use of quality firearms and ammunition, field preparation of trophies and local transfers. Upgrades and additional trophies (e.g. Fallow buck, Sika, Arapawa Ram etc.) can all be added in field during the hunt. View our red stag gallery and SCI score guide. 1 hunter with 1 guide - 4 day schedule - includes 3 nights accommodation, 2 full hunt days & 2 part days. 2 hunters with 1 guide - 6 day schedule - includes 5 nights accommodation, 4 1/2 hunt days. Price per hunter. Each hunter can select a different class of Stag. Our North Island game estate offers a large area of wilderness covered in pockets of bush, timber hill sides with large clearings and a challenging and very exciting hunt! You will see a huge abundance of game including Red Stags from spikers through to trophy class 300 to 500+ monsters, Fallow deer, Rusa, Sika, Elk, Arapawa Ram, Goat and wild boar. We have good tracking and access with Polaris Rangers.

North Island Ranch House

Situated just 3 mile from the pacific ocean and surrounded by hunting country this is our Ranch House. Couples enjoy the privacy of their own secluded cottages with queen beds, cable TV and en-suite facilities. We welcome all groups whether its hunters only, husband and wife teams, family groups and friends. Wendy serves up delicious fresh local cuisine, including lobster and seafood, your wild game, our ranch lamb and beef with quality local wine and beer. You wont go hungry or thirsty around here! Enjoy a laid back family atmosphere and plenty of laughs. Kick back in the evening at our fully stocked rustic hunters bar and dining room, watch footage from your days hunt on the big screen, and tell the tales of adventure.

How to get there

Navigation guidelines

You will arrive in Auckland and transfer to either Wellington (NZ’s capital city) or Palmerston North, both of which are only a one hour flight. To save money on flights, fly to Wellington. There you can catch a shuttle into the city centre and do a little gift shopping if you wish. There you will have plenty of time to get to the train station and enjoy the scenic 1½ hour train journey to Masterton (safe to take rifles on) where we will meet you and take you to the hunting property, get settled in, sight rifles before the hunt starts the next morning.
