About this hunt
Mouflons (ram), originally from the Middle East, were introduced to the French Alps in the early 20th century. They have since adapted well to the mountainous environment. That’s why our territories are in an elevation range of 1500 to 2400 meters. Hunts are from the beginning of September until februray. They are found in various parts of the French Alps, particularly in regions with suitable terrain and habitat. Populations are managed in specific hunting zones. From 10 years ago the mouflons population drop down because of the wolves population grow up. But in our territories the mouflons population keep growing up.
The red deer (cervus elaphus), a deer indigenous to France, can be hunted in several types of territory, particularly in the mountains, for an extraordinary hunting experience. Our territory is found in the Pyrenees, where it is possible to find red deer in large quantities.
.
Native from France, the chamois (rupicapra rupicapra) is in the goat and sheep family. This animal can live in rude territories in high altitude or in lower altitude. That’s why our territories are in an elevation range of 1200 to 2400 meters. Because of this elevation, snow is unpredictable. That’s why chamois hunts are from the beginning of September until the beginning of November to avoid snow, which makes the hunt safer.
The roe deer is a little European deer, the male will loose his antlers at the end of october.
A good physical condition is essential to do this type of hunt. However, depending on your abilities and your experience in this kind of hunt, we can adapt our hunt for you. Our territories have healthy mouflons population, on a normal day, you should see lots of animals
We are only doing spot and stalk hunting. Shooting from 30 yards to 400 yards must be expect. Your chance to harvest a mature animals is almost guaranteed and if not, we are not charging the trophy fee.
