More about us

Our company was established in 2006 and operates in 1 territory.
  • I have lived and breathed the outdoors and its pursuits for as long as I can remember, especially Hunting, Fishing and most shooting sports.
  • As a young fella the untamed wilderness of New Zealand was my playground, I couldn’t get enough. I grew up hunting Red Deer and Possum for pocket money and eventually made it a business while it was possible.

About this hunt

The magnificent Himalayan bull tahr, in full winter costume is one of the most spectacular and sought after game in animals in the South Pacific, and is undoubtedly one of the World’s most impressive horned animals. Wilderness West Coast Tahr hunts are what we do best. With our long standing local knowledge, we know the very best locations to hunt for your Trophy Bull Tahr. On our hunts you can expect to see between 30-40 Bull Tahr a day with 5-10 trophy bulls. New Zealand Tahr can be hunted year-round. Himalayan Tahr hunting is best here from February through November with peak rut hunting occurring May through early July. Bull Tahr are in their prized winter coats April through August and can be found in their summer coats in late October through March. We use a helicopter to access the remote campsites within the Southern Alps, the flight is truly spectacular. Most of our hunting is within 1-2 hours walk from camp with a lot of time spent glassing for big mature bulls. This means even if your fitness levels are not quite what they used to be, we will find you your trophy bull. Tahr hunts can be combined with Chamois in our wilderness areas.
