- Embarras River Outfitters is a professionally guided bow and rifle bear hunting experience. We offer two 7-day hunts per year with a maximum of 6 hunters per week (May 19-26, 2024 or May 26-June 2, 2024)
- Remotely located in the dense Canadian forest, 100 km’s northwest of Fort McMurray Alberta. (58.20348°N 111.37997°W).
- New to outfitting, the area has had very little hunting pressure resulting in monster trophy bears. The number of hunters is limited to ensure the quality of bears for years to come.
- A 2nd bear tag is available for an additional $1000.00.
- Wolf tags are available at a cost of $1000.00 (only charged if harvested)

About this hunt
Come experience the hunt of trophy size black bears while enjoying all the natural beauty northern Canada has to offer. We are a professional bow and rifle guiding company that can accommodate group bookings, individual hunters and non-hunters. Start your adventure by first making your way to Fort McMurray International Airport where you will be greeted by our professional staff. You will then board Cessna Caravan for a short 45-minute flight over majestic oil sands and stunning lakes to the most remote outfitting camp in Alberta. Our camp is impressive, it includes high-end outfitting tents with all the amenities including heaters and cots, a dining tent, semi commercial kitchen (chef included) and a shower house with unlimited hot water. In camp you will also find a realistic moch bait site complete with a tree stand which provides hunters the opportunity to ensure accuracy of their equitant prior to heading out in search of their trophy bear. After getting settled, our team of professional guides will lead hunters to their stands to begin the hunt for the perfect black bear. Our bait sites are “up close and personal’ with a shooting distance averaging 18 yards. This provides hunters the exclusive experience of watching these amazing creatures at close range and the time to ensure they choose the ‘right one’. The bait sites are extremely active all day long but the ‘big boys’ tend to roll in later in the evening. These monster bears have great genetics, with huge heads and array of color phases. Our company has some of the best hunting guides out there! It is important to our team to not only provide the opportunity to harvest a world class bear but to also include some of the luxuries of home.
