About this hunt

The Himalayan lbex is indigenous to Pakistans’ Himalayan and Karakoram range. Gilgit-Baltistan can be reached by flight to Gilgit and Skardu as well as via the Karakorum highway. December to March is the most suitable time to hunt for lbex as the snow brings them to lower areas. It is generally agreed that a bull with over 40 inches of horn length is a good trophy and that anything over 44 or 45 inches is excellent. The average size of sheep is 38-40 inches, with occasional 42 inches trophy taken. The Himalayan Ibex can be up to 48 inches in horn length. Ibex are offered only in very limited numbers to avoid negative impact on the population, it also serves as an important prey for the snow leopard. To ensure sustainable use and minimal impact on the population, we concentrate on old class animals at least over 8 - 10 years.
