The Leopard hunt is highly specialized as well as challenging and includes the risk of any hunt on dangerous game. Namibia has an annual CITES quota of 250 leopards , every outfitter has to apply for a so called “Leopard Tag”, on annual basis at our Ministry of Environment and Tourism (MET). Generally only one Tag is granted per outfitter, meaning 4 Tags for our group if things are going well. Only end of the respective year we are notified if our application was successful and only then we can confirm your booking accordingly. We offer a 14 day package (12 hunting days and 2 travel days). The hunt is done by baiting. A Leopard hunt can be combined with a hunt on brown hyena, as both animals take the same baits, additionally during morning hours a limited hunt on plains game could be accommodated as well. A Leopard hunt can be conducted only on a 1:1 basis.

Northwestern Buffalo

Buffalo hunting is done in areas with abundant Buffalo. Our focus is sustainable offtake and focusing on Dugga Boys. We will only hunt the herds early in the year when the bulls are with the cows, but come June we avoid applying pressure on the herds where possible. This helps keeping the Buffalo herds in big numbers and is better for protection towards predators like lion and hyena. From June onwards we focus on the Dugga boys. This does make it harder but most certainly more rewarding when that mature bull is taken. We have very seldom failed on a buffalo hunt, by making sure all quotas are sustainable. Hunts start off in the morning by cutting tracks and you generally catch up to the bulls or herd within an hour. Lots of crawling is done to try getting close and getting a better look. Our hunts are not strenuous but very exciting. We have a good enough road network that tracks can still be found in the afternoon and more often than not, Buffalo are seen from the vehicle. Hippo are hunted on land and water however in the Zambezi hunting them in strong current is avoided as you will lose your trophy. Hippo Bulls are generally hunted for trophy however, it’s near impossible to judge a Hippo in the water or land. So we focus on Mature Bulls and hope for the best. Hippo cows are hunted for bait for Lion hunts. Cows are substantially cheaper than bulls and can also be taken as a trophy. Hippo have poor eyesight and are not very difficult to approach. Alarm calls from birds are their biggest defence.

There are two areas in South Africa where we hunt hippo, depending on permit availability at the time of booking. These are situated in the Limpopo and Mpumalanga provinces. The hunt is done by scanning dams and rivers in the area to locate a good hippo bull. Hippo mostly stay in water during the day and although we try and get a shot on land it will most probably be in water. Hippo are extremely dangerous animals and walking through the thick reeds on the banks listening to their sounds makes for an exciting hunt. Accommodation are comfortable four star with excellent meals. Plains game and buffalo as well as spotted hyena can be added to this hunt at specially discounted prices. Day visits to the Kruger national park can be added. Please inquire for available days.

Together, the team has guided clients armed with rifle and bow to more than 50 species of game. You will arrive as a client and you will leave as a friend, with memories that we will all treasure forever. We utilize a fleet of new, well-maintained, fully equipped 4x4 hunting and utility vehicles. Our vehicles all have radio communication to keep in contact with the camp and each other. The majority of shots are taken between 100-200 yards.
