About this hunt

We start in the morning looking for fresh tracks of Bongo, Buffalo or Sitatunga. Once a good fresh track is found we follow it with the local trackers. Bongo is hunted while tracking with dogs. The bongo will face the dogs and allows us to approach it for evaluation of the trophy. Buffalo's are hunted tracking them on foot or waiting for them at salt licks where some salt licks have blinds. The Duikers are hunted by calling. Our native trackers are experts; their call not only attracts the duikers but also hornbills, monkey eagles, different monkeys and apes. The duikers can be shot with a rifle but it is more advisable to use a shotgun.

Hunting season: 7 May 2024 - 30 Jun 2024

Best time for hunting: 14 May 2024 - 17 Jun 2024

Success rate

The hunter needs to be reasonably fit and must be able to walk for a few hours per day. The success rate for bongo is high as for the duikers. The buffalo are present and may be aggressive. The success rate depends strongly from the climate: for bongo rains and dry periods are required. For buffalo, open savannah patches with fresh grass growth are essential and a drier period of the season can be taken.

Cameroon , Faro River area

8.0 of 10

We tracked savannah buffalo , almost everyday , unique eco-system ,, very beautiful area especially along the Faro River , very nice camp along river , good food , good service , hard working staff , intense tracking abilties , dedicated anti-poaching Team , enjoyed fishing in evenings & seeing all types birds & animals .

Although we tracked bufs almost everyday ,, we couldn’t get up on them bc of worm mounds on ground sounds like your walking on fresh snow & alot of dried leaves prevented us from making final approach , without bufs hearing us & them taking off w/out chance to look for a bull . Looks like there’s a good population of bufs in this area . Also theres some very wicked thick riverine bush , thats hard to approach animals in . We gave it hell trying ,, thats why they call it hunting !!!

Most authentic safari experience

10.0 of 10

it was definitely the best and most authentic safari experience i ever had. You are very far from those southern shooting farms. Thanks to Koen, the manager, I lived a pure dive in the central african atmosphere. As a University teacher, he is an expert and he offers you a thrilling experience with close contact with the game. I recommend it to any real hunter.
